Chaturmas 2025: Every year, Devshayani Ekadashi is celebrated on the eleventh day of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. From this day, Lord Vishnu goes into Yog Nidra for four months, after which Chaturmas starts. In simple words, the period from Vishnu ji going into Yog Nidra to waking up is called Chaturmas. Since the gods are asleep, the control of the universe is in the hands of Mahakal.

This time, Devshayani Ekadashi is on 6 July 2025. In such a situation, Chaturmas will also be valid from this day. It is said that no auspicious work should be done in the house during Chaturmas; otherwise, financial problems start occurring. Not only this, but do not do any religious journey either. What not to do in Chaturmas
Auspicious works like marriage, Bhoomi Pujan, Mundan, and Tilak ceremony should not be done in Chaturmas. This is inauspicious.
In Chaturmas, Vishnu ji is in Yog Nidra with Mata Lakshmi, along with all the gods and goddesses also go into Yog Nidra. Therefore, no new work should be started. This reduces the chances of its success.
From the beginning of Chaturmas to its end, eat only Satvik food. Tamasik things should not be consumed during this period.
During this time, stay away from habits like insulting women, beating children, lying, cheating, fraud and jealousy.
During Chaturmas, one should not send away a daughter-in-law or daughter from home. This can be inauspicious.

What to do in Chaturmas
Mahadev should be worshipped in Chaturmas.
You can do Mantra Sadhna and Bhajan-Kirtan.
Doing pious deeds like charity in Chaturmas is beneficial.
Doing penance at this time leads to auspicious results in life.
