First Sawan Somwar Vrat Vidhi: The holy month dedicated to Lord Shiva begins from the Pratipada date of Krishna Paksha of Shravan month. It is considered to be the favorite month of Mahadev, the God of Gods. It is a religious belief that if even a single pot of water is offered on the Shivling with devotion in this month, then Lord Shiva is pleased and blesses his devotees with happiness, peace and prosperity.

Every Monday that comes in Sawan has special significance. Keeping a fast on this day and offering water, Belpatra, Dhatura, and other worship materials on the Shivling is considered very virtuous. In such a situation, let us know how Shiva should be worshipped on the first Monday of Sawan.
When is the first Monday of Sawan?
According to the Drik Panchang, the month of Sawan has started from July 11 in the year 2025, and it will end on August 9. This time the first Monday of Sawan is falling on July 14, 2025.
When should Jalabhishek be done?
Although Shiva can be worshipped throughout the day, to get special results, it is considered best to do Jalabhishek in auspicious times. On this day, Brahma Muhurta will be from 04.11 am to 04.52 am, Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 11:59 pm to 12:55 am. Along with this, Pradosh Kaal is also considered auspicious for Jalabhishek.
How to worship on Monday?
On this day, take a bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. Go to the temple to worship the Shivling or install the Shivling at home and worship with devotion and rules. Perform the Abhishek of Shivling with water, milk, curd, honey, ghee and Gangajal. After this, offer Belpatra, white flowers, Dhatura, Aak, Akshat and Bhasm. Then offer white sweets to Lord Shiva and remember his name by clapping three times.
