Bengaluru, July 26: In a shocking incident, a jewellery shop was looted at gunpoint in broad daylight in Bengaluru. The incident was caught on the CCTV cameras installed inside the shop and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that two masked men with guns barged into the shop and looted in front of the shopkeepers. The video shows the jeweller screaming in fear as the robbers brandished a gun at them.

There are reports that the incident occurred in the Madanayakanahalli area, which is located about 40 km from Bengaluru city, on Thursday (July 24). There are also reports that the robbers looted ornaments worth Rs 18 lakh at gunpoint from the store.

The video shows that the robbers pointed gun at the shop owner and an employee who were present inside the shop at the time of the incident. The grabbed whatever jewellery they could, including the pieces kept on the counter and showroom displays and fled the shop within 30 seconds.
The robbery occurred at Ram Jewellers minutes before the shop was about to close. An FIR has been registered in connection with the matter and the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The shop owner has been identified as Kanhaiya Lal and he said in the FIR that around four people arrived in a car. Three of them, with their faces covered, entered that shop while on of them stayed outside.
The shop owner raised an alarm after which a person from the neighbouring shop tried to stop the robbers while they escaping. However, one of the robbers attacked him with a knife due to which he suffered injury to his shoulder in the attack.
