England batter Harry Brook survived a close call in the final over of day two of the second Test against India at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The right-handed batter intervened with his shoulder to prevent the ball from hitting the stumps, thereby surviving through to stumps to resume his innings on day three. A couple of pictures of the same surfaced on social media.

The ball from the right-arm speedster seamed in and the Yorkshire batter almost chopped onto the stumps. However, he used his presence of mind to shoulder it away. At the same time, the youngster was inches away from falling onto the stumps.

Akash Deep makes back-to-back strikes to dent England:
Although Akash Deep struggled a touch in his first over, conceding 12 runs, he roared back with back-to-back wickets in his second. He got Ben Duckett to nick off to Gill at first slip, followed by Ollie Pope, who edged KL Rahul to the cordon. KL Rahul juggled it once and took it the second time.
Mohammed Siraj joined the party in the eighth over of the innings when he edged one to Karun Nair, who was also stationed at slip as the home side crashed to 25/3. Harry Brook had also survived an umpire's call but joined hands with Joe Root took England to stumps at 77/3. Nevertheless, the hosts still trail by 510 runs heading to day 3.
Earlier, Shubman Gill's marathon 269 propelled the tourists to 587 as India kept England on the field for 151 overs.
