Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): To take tourism to new heights, Thakurtal area, located in Madan Mahal Hills is being developed as a prominent tourism hub. This ambitious plan also includes the comprehensive development of a 'Forest Safari - Zoo cum Rescue Centre' and Sangramsagar Lake.
This project will be developed over an area of approximately 85 to 100 hectares, offering tourists a combined experience of natural wildlife and modern technology. To give shape to this project, PWD Minister Rakesh Singh held a detailed discussion with divisional forest officer Rishi Mishra and a consultant to finalise the project's blueprint.
Minister Singh said that the detailed project report (DPR) for this project will be prepared within the next three months, after which the development work will commence.

The centre will include modern facilities such as a Robotic Interpretation Centre, Butterfly Park, and Long Carnival, featuring attractive wildlife like Yellow Tigers, White Tigers, Panthers, Lions, and Bears.
Additionally, special areas will be created for crocodiles and snakes in the Reptile House, while exotic and native birds will also have their dedicated spaces. Many innovations such as a separate Exotic Park for Zebras and Giraffes, Water Interpretation Centre, and a Species-Wise Interpretation Centre will be key features of this project.
Singh said to provide tourists with an adventurous experience, the entire area from Sangramsagar Lake to Thakurtal would be connected through trekking, ziplining, and boating, making it a complete adventure and eco-tourism destination. Moreover, natural leisure spots like View Points will also be developed in the Thakurtal area.
