A six-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after being hit by a speeding auto-rickshaw on P. L. Lokhande Marg in Govandi, while returning home from school. The victim, Sidiksha Khandare, is currently undergoing treatment at Sion Hospital. The auto-rickshaw driver fled the scene after the accident, and police have launched a search to trace him.
According to the complaint filed with the police, the victim’s father, Ajay Sham Khandare,43, a ward boy by profession, resides with his family in Buddha Nagar 02, Govandi. On July 5, Ajay had dropped his daughters Sidiksha and Tanisha at Narayan Guru School for a cultural program.
Later that afternoon, their grandmother Lata went to pick them up from school. Around 4:15 PM, while they were walking on P. L. Lokhande Marg, an unknown auto-rickshaw driver hit them from behind. Sidiksha suffered a serious head injury in the incident, while her sister Tanisha sustained minor injuries.

Locals rushed both children to Shatabdi Hospital, after which Sidiksha was shifted to Sion Hospital for further treatment due to the severity of her injuries.
Deonar Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. An investigation is currently underway.
