Navi Mumbai: Two individuals were booked after a Pit Bull dog allegedly attacked and injured a senior citizen in the Parsik Hill area of Belapur. The incident occurred on the night of August 5, near Bungalow No. 5, Sector 30.
CBD Police have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to negligence and endangerment.
57-Year-Old Man Bitten by Pit Bull During Walk in Parsik Hill
According to the complaint registered, the victim, Dr. Lalit Harode (57), a local resident, was out for a walk with his brother when the dog, reportedly owned by a nearby resident and being handled by an unidentified person, suddenly charged at him and bit him on the right side of his back. The dog had escaped its handler’s grip during the attack.
Victim Seeks Vaccination Proof; Owner Shows Municipal Licence
The accused allegedly released the dog in a negligent manner, resulting in the assault, the victim alleged. After the incident, the complainant approached the dog’s owner to inquire about vaccinations and was shown a municipal license for the American Pit Bull.

"We would be verifying the dog’s licensing and vaccination records,” an officer from the CBD Police Station said.
