“Tera boyfriend hai kya (Do you have a boyfriend?), aise propose karneka (This is how you should propose), aise hug karneka (here's how to hug), chocolate deneka (Give chocolates), ladkene ladki dekhi to dil ki dhadkan tej hoti (When a boy sees a girl, his heartbeat increases), tera lafda hai kya kiske sathme (Are you having an affair? With whom?)” — sounds like dialogues from a Bollywood movie. However, these are the things allegedly taught and spoken about at a school in Pune.
A mother, speaking to media, narrated the whole story and said that her daughter told her this, after which she reached Chandan Nagar Police Station to file a complaint.
She stays in Khandave Nagar, Chandan Nagar. She lodged a police complaint against a Physical Training teacher with the Child Welfare Unit at Chandan Nagar Police Station for allegedly making inappropriate and suggestive remarks to her 14-year-old daughter during indoor PT class.
The incident took place on July 1 in Shri Santosh Tukaram Madhyamik Vidyalaya. Regarding the matter, a case was registered on July 3 in Chandan Nagar Police Station under relevant sections.
The accused PT teacher has been identified as Mangesh Borate.
According to the 34-year-old complainant, her daughter, a student of Class 8 at Shri Sant Tukaram Madhyamik Vidyalaya, reported the incident to her on the night of July 2, 2025.
She expressed that her daughter had taken admission to the school on June 16, 2025, and on July 1, during a PT class held at 1:45 PM, the teacher Borate allegedly made inappropriate comments in the classroom. Borate was explaining the benefits of a healthy body and bodybuilding techniques and commented, “If boys build good bodies, girls will look at them,” and “If girls exercise well, boys will propose to them.”

"Why are you not laughing?"
Moreover, he also said, “If girls smile while looking at boys, the boys’ heartbeat increases.”
When our daughter did not laugh along with the other students, Borate allegedly asked her to stand up and questioned, “Do you have someone (a boyfriend)? Why are you not laughing?”
Seema Dhakne, Senior Police Inspector of Chandan Nagar Police Station, speaking to FPJ, said, "The student (victim) feels embarrassed and distressed over the questions of the PT teacher. Disturbed by the nature of the teacher’s behavior, the mother approached the police and lodged a police complaint."
The teacher had joined the school in 2006 as a peon. However, later he qualified and got a job as a PT teacher in the same school in 2012. Since then, he has been pursuing his career as a PT teacher in the school. Earlier, no complaints had been registered against him.
However, we have detained the accused and he will be produced in court today. The matter is under investigation; accordingly, action will be taken.
