Helen Worth looked incredible as she was spotted for the first time following her sad Coronation Street exit. She has been Jack P Shepherd'ssoap mum for 25 years, so it goes without saying that Helenwould be in attendance of his wedding.
Helen had first appeared on the ITV soap in 1974 but decided to hang up her acting boots last year. The beloved actress attended Jack's wedding with her husband Trevor Dawson wearing a patterned blue dress.
She completed her look with a pair of black heels and a matching clutch bag. She also sported her trademark shoulder length bob hairstyle.
Jack joined the Platt family in 2000, aged 12 years old and has played the role of David for 25 years.
Last June, Corrie bosses released a statement over Helen's decision to quit the soap. She explained: "This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world."
She added: "I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding."
Helen went on to say: "I have been truly blessed to have been given the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have worked with fantastic actors, directors and a brilliant crew.
"The past 50 years have flown by and I don't think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet."
Meanwhile, Jack cut a dapper appearance in an off-white suit accompanied by a black bowtie and a pair of dark glasses. And the star was joined by a host of his castmates including Alan Halsall and Colson Smith.
Coronation Street has undergone a major cull earlier this year and while Jack has been lucky to survive, it seems he's found a way to cope with the uncertainty.
In an interview with the Mirror at the time, he revealed: "You can’t become too settled, because that’s when they’ll let you go! You’ve always got to be prepared that you might get called upstairs and told your character has run its course. “If that happens it’s fine."
He explained: "I’ve been lucky enough to do 25 years; there’s not many in the cast who have been there that long. But you can never rest on your laurels and think: ‘I’m here to stay.’
And it looks as though Helen Worth has had more of an impact on Jack than once thought. He went on to say: "Helen Worth never did. She never knew if they would renew her contract. I used to say to her: ‘of course they will.'
"But she was never confident. And I’m the same. When my contract is up for renewal, I get a bit nervous – everybody does. But that’s good. It shows you’re not too comfortable and that you’re always ready if the s**t hits the fan and they say: ‘you’re done.’ That way you’re already mentally prepared and you move on to the next thing."
