Manchester City are advancing in talks to re-sign James Trafford from Burnley with Ederson looking likely to exit The Etihad following talks over a transfer to Galatasaray.
The former Premier League champions have already been active in the summer transfer window, bringing in five new signings. But a new first-choice goalkeeper could be on the cards amid interest in Ederson from Galatasaray, who have already held talks with the 31-year-old.
Ederson was heavily linked with a shock move to the Saudi Pro Leaguelast summer only to end up staying put.
But a move does appear to be on the cards ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, with reports from Turkey claiming the Brazil international has reached an agreement on personal terms with Galatasaray.
The Turkish giants are poised to open talks with City over a transfer fee to conclude a deal which would bring Ederson's eight-year stay in Manchester to an end.

Losing Ederson's services would be a major blow for Pep Guardiola and City, who are looking to bounce back in the new season after relinquishing their title to Liverpool last term.
Crucially, though, they have already opened negotiations with Burnley over a deal which would see Trafford, 22, head back to The Etihad two years after leaving the club permanently.
Sky Sports have confirmed that City are trying to negotiate on the £40million buyback fee that was agreed between the two clubs back in the summer of 2023 when Trafford moved to Turf Moor.

Trafford has gone on to establish himself as one of England's top young goalkeepers since heading to Burnley and has attracted transfer interest from Newcastle after a stellar 2024-25 campaign in the Championship.
The Magpies had been favourites to land Trafford despite seeing a £27m bid for the keeper turned down last month. However, City are now seemingly in pole position to land their former academy graduate, who left the club without making a single senior appearance.
Intriguingly, Stefan Ortega, City's current No 2, could be an option for Burnley if they do lose Trafford this summer. The Clarets are gearing up for life back in the Premier League after finishing second in the Championship last term.
