Lionel Messi’s bodyguard Yassine Cheuko has sensationally threatened to smash Logan Paul after putting together a stunning boxing contract. The former Navy SEAL has been embroiled in a furious war of words with the YouTuber turned boxer for some time.
It comes after Paul challenged Inter Miami star Messi to a boxing fight to settle their lengthy legal dispute surrounding their rival energy drinks. He said: "Brother, you copied us. Everyone saw it. They saw what you did. Everyone notices it and then we got sued. Hold on, wait, what? This ain’t justice. So we countersued, obviously.
"If you can’t beat the best, you gotta be the best. But that’s illegal. That’s trademark infringement. We’re holding him accountable, and it’s harassment? All jokes aside, I will consider dropping this if Logan Paul vs Messi [gets made in] 2025. I’ll see you in the ring, brother."
But Paul soon backtracked and claimed his challenge was simply a joke. He added: "Bro, people think I really wanna fight Messi because I made that video.
"Everyone’s like, ‘Of course you want to fight someone retired and smaller than you.’ It was a f******* joke. I’m not fighting Messi guys, it was a joke for attention. For f******* attention bro."

But it appears that Cheuko is not prepared to drop the challenge, having volunteered to step into the ring in Messi’s place. Sharing a video of him unboxing a pair of boxing gloves, he said: “Lolo [Paul], look what I got.
“Lolo, when I’m going to smash you, you’re going to have your name on your face, Lolo. Look, everything is ready - gloves are ready, contract ready. Everybody’s waiting for the fight and you still hiding.
“I got messages from everywhere - Africa, America, Europe, everywhere. And you still hiding, Lolo. Sign the contract and don’t tell me to come to Puerto Rico, we’re gonna fight here in Miami at Chase Stadium. So sign the contract, I’m waiting Lolo. Everybody’s waiting, the world is waiting.”

Meanwhile, Cheuko has already put together a contract worth £11m for Paul to sign, albeit the American has yet to accept the fight. The fresh gauntlet from Messi’s bodyguard comes in the aftermath of a touchline ban from MLS.
Cheuko recently revealed that he had been told by organisers that he was not allowed by the side of the pitch and has urged for dialogue to improve the situation.
