Manchester United will be praying they win the Europa League final on Wednesday, earning the huge financial boost of qualifying for the in the process. They will hand embattled boss Ruben Amorim an improved war chest for the summer window.
It will be a crucial pre-season for United after what has been a largely dismal campaign. The defeat to has left the Red Devils 16th in the table and condemned them to an eighth successive game without a win in the top-flight.
The squad desperately needs to be overhauled, with Amorim eyeing a number of new signings. But their hopes of signing Dan Ndoye have been dashed after Bologna moved to tie the winger down to a new deal.

Ndoye hopes dashedManchester United's hopes of signing Dan Ndoye have suffered a significant blow after Bologna moved to hand him a new long-term deal. The winger has impressed for the Serie A side, scoring the winner as they beat AC Milan in the Coppa Italia final.
According to TuttoSport, United had been on Ndoye's 'trail', even sending scouts to watch him lift the Italian Cup. But it is said that Bologna are now attempting to 'shield' him from a move with a new deal.
His current contract expires in the summer of 2027 and Bologna are now preparing to offer a 'significant' increase on his salary. Bologna hope that will be enough to force United to end their interest.
Triple move urged
United legend has urged his former club to make three key moves this summer. Rooney believes the Red Devils should bring back David De Gea, make Victor Osimhen their top striker target and make a 'difficult' move for skipper Marc Guehi.
"I'd sign David de Gea back. I think Manchester United have missed him and I think he would do an amazing job. Second I'd sign Osimhen as a number nine," Rooney told Amazon Prime.
"He's a good striker and possibly available. The third one I'd sign, it would probably be difficult, but I'd try to sign Guehi from Crystal Palace. As a centre-back he'd have a really good impact."
PSG enter Mastantuono chaseParis Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign River Plate star Franco Mastantuono, dealing a blow to Manchester United. The Red Devils had been eyeing a move for the midfielder.
He has made 17 appearances for River, who sit second in Group B of the Argentine Primera Division. United had sent scouts to watch him, with the 17-year-old having a £37m release clause in his contract.
But according to TyC Sports, have now entered the race to sign Mastantuono. They have already started talks with his representatives, with the French champions said to view him as a 'top priority'.
