Miley Cyrus reveals hospital dash over 'brutal' health issue after filming music video

Singer-songwriter has revealed that she spent time on an intensive care unit months ago due to a issue. She opened up about the experience recently and shared that a surgeon found the situation "disgusting".

Miley, 32, spoke about being hospitalised last year whilst on talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week. She promoted her upcoming album Something Beautiful and its accompanying film of the same name whilst interviewed by host , 57, on Thursday night's episode.

During the interview, it was revealed that she worked on content for the new film, which is a visual album, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Miley said she filmed a video for the song Walk of Fame at the attraction in Los Angeles.

Speaking about that music video, Jimmy told her at one point: "This one really, particularly, caught my eye because you are rolling around on the ground." Miley then teased to the presenter whilst on the show: "I caught something!"

The winner said that after filming the video in October she ended up in hospital with an infection. She said she was even on the intensive care unit (ICU) "for a moment" as the emergency department was busy.

She said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!: "I filmed this video in October and by November at I was put in ICU for a moment. Just for a moment. But it was mostly because it was Thanksgiving - there was a lot of people in the ER y'know, people choking on turkey legs or whatever."

Miley added: "My leg began to disintergrate within some way around the kneecap area. The doctor goes 'you have any idea why you would have such a brutal infection on your kneecap?' and I just saw myself [dancing] and I had to tell them."

She told Jimmy in the discussion: "To have a surgeon look at you and say 'yuck'. Like they open up like cadavers. Like they see inside the gut of humans and they're looking at me telling me I'm disgusting, and they do brain operations."

Jimmy continued the interview by questioning whether the sidewalk was "steamed" before filming began. Miley suggested that wasn't the case and told him that she decided to film at the location in the middle of the night.

Answering his query about the sidewalk, she said earlier this week: "Absolutely not. None of that because y'know with this movie I had a big dream and a small budget. Well, I had a pretty good budget but I spent it all on my clothes."

Miley added: "So then when it came time to y'know go to the Walk of Fame, they're like 'so what are you gonna do? Are you gonna rent this thing or what? Because that's really out of your price range'. I was like 'no, we'll just go in the middle of the night'."

She asked Jimmy: "Have you been to the Walk of Fame in the middle of the night?" Miley then teased of her experience: "I thought it was my last day."
