Although Anurag Basu has not presented the film 'Metro... In Dinon' as a sequel to 'Life in a... Metro', but the story of the film will refresh your memories of 18 years ago. The music for 'Metro... In Dinon' has been composed in the same way as it was in 'Life in a... Metro' and this time also the music of the film has been composed by Pritam, who is working together with Anurag Basu after 'Life in a... Metro'. Also, Anupam Kher and Aditya Roy Kapur have sung one song each for the film.
Konkana Sen Sharma has been retained from the original film. Anurag Basu has once again cast Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur and Fatima Sana Shaikh after appearing together in the Netflix original Ludo (2020). Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta have been cast in other key roles. Let me tell you, Anurag has made the film in a great way this time too and there is no doubt that he has succeeded again in my eyes. This time the film is a little longer too.
The story of the film revolves around Shivani (Neena Gupta) and Sanjeev (Shashwat Chatterjee) who live in Kolkata, their two daughters daughter Kajol (Konkona Sen Sharma) and younger daughter Chumki (Sara Ali Khan) and the people associated with them. Actually, Kajol (Konkona Sen Sharma) has been living a happy married life with her husband Manti (Pankaj Tripathi) for the last 19 years, but it seems so from the outside… the truth is that the life of both of them is not perfect.
Shivani's younger daughter Chumki is 15 years old and works as an HR in a private company, where she likes one of her colleagues and both are about to get engaged, but in the meantime she meets a travel blogger Parth (Aditya Roy Kapoor), after which the closeness between the two starts increasing. A story of Parth's friend Akash (Ali Fazal) is also shown in this, who wants to make his career as a musician, but due to his marriage with his girlfriend Shruti (Fatima Sana Sheikh) and family responsibilities, he is unable to reach his goal.
On the other hand, Shivani also had some dreams before marriage, which got buried under the burden of responsibilities after marriage, but one day she meets her ex-boyfriend Parimal (Anupam Kher) and then the film shows the resolution of tangled relationships. Now if we talk about acting, from Anupam Kher to Neena Gupta, Konkana Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Shashvat Chatterjee… everyone has performed brilliantly and everyone's hard work is clearly visible in this film.
Although the first half of the film is a bit slow, but by the second half the film manages to pick up its pace. How much love and relationships have changed in this era of social media, it was seen in this film. Overall, you can watch this film in theatres with family. From my side, this film gets 3.5 stars out of 5.
