aimed a fiery dig at and sensationally hinted that he could leave Manchester United this summer. The winger was furious with the decision to use him for only 20 minutes at the end of the Red Devils' Europa League final defeat against Tottenham.

Amorim opted to start Mason Mount of United's attack. The United boss did not introduce the Argentina international until the 71st minute, with his side desperately chasing an equaliser after Brennan Johnson's first-half goal. Garnacho was denied by Vicario with a driven effort, and later revealed that he felt his contributions in the previous rounds had earned him a start.

"Our performance was s***** and now we lose the final. We can't beat anyone in the league. Until the final, I played every round helping the team, then the final arrives and I play 20 minutes. I don't know..." Garnacho told Spanish-speaking broadcasters in Bilbao.

"The final, the season, the whole situation of the club... I will try to enjoy the summer and then we will see what happens."

Before the game, Garnacho had posted a photo of himself scoring in last season's FA Cup final. It was perceived by many to be a revelation that he was not starting against Spurs and that he was unhappy with the decision.

His brother, Roberto, also took aim at under-pressure boss Amorim after United were beaten 1-0 by Spurs. Writing on Instagram alongside a picture of the United star, the younger sibling said: "Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in last two finals, just to be on the pitch 19 minutes and get thrown under the bus, wowe hahahahaha."

Garnacho scored once and provided four assists in 15 games during United's Europa League run. He had started 10 of those matches, including both semi-final legs against Athletic Club. In the Premier League, the 20-year-old has scored six times and set up a further two in 36 appearances - 23 of which were starts.

Chelsea and Napoli were both strongly linked with Garnacho during the January transfer window. United are expected to conduct a significant overhaul of Amorim's squad in the summer, which is likely to see several first-team players leave. The Red Devils signed Garnacho from Atletico Madrid for a six-figure compensation fee when he turned 16, meaning any money they receive for him would bank them significant profit and ease any fears over a profit and sustainability rules breach.
