The BBC has confirmed the future of Waterloo Road two years after it made its return to screens.
Recently, the school-based drama saw the arrival of Lindsey Coulson, with one star of the show detailing their thoughts about her arrival, who replaced Jason Manford's character of Steve Savage.
Although the 15th series came to an end at the start of this year, there's good news for fans of the long-running soap as it's been recommissioned for two more series.
Filming of the next two series will begin in Greater Manchester later this year, however, fans won't have long to wait for new episodes as a brand new series will air next month.
Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, says: "I'm delighted that Waterloo Road will be opening its corridors once again, with two more series of the hit drama about to start filming.
"The show continues to entertain the audience who love to follow both the staff and pupils and, with a new series heading to BBC iPlayer and BBC One next month, they don't have long to wait!"
Waterloo Road has been a huge success since it was rebooted in 2023, with it remaining as one of iPlayer's top-performing titles with under-35s.

When the show returned to screens, it welcomed back an array of its original cast members, including Adam Thomas, Angela Griffin, Katie Griffiths, Chelsee Healey, andLauren Drummond.
Last series, Jason Merrells reprised his role as Jack Rimmer, and he will now feature as a full time cast member in the series.
Speaking about his return at the time, he said: "I left the OG series of Waterloo Road in 2006 with very fond memories of building a character in such a great ensemble and with such an important story.
"When I saw the renewed interest from another generation - who weren't born when we made the original - I was heartened and surprised.
"Jack Rimmer was probably my favourite long-running character I've played on television, and going back for this new incarnation to tell this story of who Jack has become over the intervening years has been an absolute pleasure.
"It's a different building, but the same ethos, drama, humour & integrity are still in place, it felt like coming home."
Also joining the cast is Jon Richardson, who is set to make his debut as the school's new media studies teacher next month.
