BBC Breakfast's weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has set the record straight about her choice of outfits on the show. While many may think she has a team of people who style her for her segment, the 63-year-old said this has never been the case.
Instead, the meteorologist joked that her outfit choices are all her "own mistakes".
While a guest on BBC Radio 2's Tracks Of My Years, presenter Gary Davies said: "You just look like summer has arrived, every single morning, you do and that's why I think we all love you.
"How do you decide what to wear every day, is this all you or do you have a team?".
Laughing, Carol replied: "You're having a laugh, a team to sort out my outfits?
"No, it's all me and often it's what's ironed, what's washed and what's clean, 'Lovely, that'll do', because it's not a fashion show for me.
"I don't want to be what you talk about rather than the weather, because my job is the weather and it's an important message, so, nobody helps me, they're all my own mistakes."
Carol went on to say she loves her job and her colleagues both in front of and behind the camera, adding: "We've known each other for donkeys years, so it's real friendship that you're witnessing."
Having joined the BBC Breakfast team back in 1997, she remains as the longest-serving remaining presenter on the show.
Carol has also been awarded for her coverage of the weather, winning the TRIC award for best TV Weather Presenter in 2003, 2008, 2009 and between 2012 to 2017.
The meteorologist has additionally had the seal of approval from Princesss Anne.
In November 2015, she is reported as receiving an Honorary Fellowship from the Princess Royal for "contributions to broadcasting" at Inverness College.
During that same year, she took part on Strictly Come Dancing alongside the show's former professional dancer Pasha Kovalev. While many praised her efforts at the time, her journey on the show was short-lived, after finishing in 10th place.
Meanwhile, Carol recently insisted that she has no plans to retire anytime soon.
Responding to a question about potentially stepping back, she told Radio Times Magazine: "Don't say that; you'll get me sacked! And I love my job; I can't imagine not doing it.
"There will be a day, obviously, when that happens, but for now I still love the weather. Each day is different, you know?".
She continued: "We're an island, and the weather changes all the time, so it's always interesting."
