Fortnite Superman's Call and skin update release date, time and new powers

Fortnite fans are counting down to the release of a new update that adds Superman to the game.

Releasing in two parts and launching in time for the latest movie, the Superman content begins with the release of the Superman's Call crystal.

The Superman's Call crystal has a July 11 release date on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android. According to Epic Games, the Superman content joins the game at 5pm BST UK time.

Superman's Call will have a chance to spawn in every Battle Royale and Zero Build match. The first person to find it will unlock special powers.

Epic Games explains more: "The first player to find it will be given Superman's powers, gaining the ability to fly through the air, melt structures with heat vision, and flex superhuman strength.

"If other players fighting back are able to take you down, the transformed player will revert back to their normal self, rifting back to the battlefield."

In addition to Superman's Call, fans with the Battle Pass will also be able to unlock the Superman outfit.

The Superman Pen and Ink outfit can be unlocked by earning 12 Account Levels. That's on top of additional items such as the cape and glider.

"By reaching other Account Level goals, you can unlock matching accessories like the Daily Flight Glider, Super Cape Back Bling, Crystal Smasher Pickaxe, Super Save Emote, and more," Epic explains.

"Keep meeting the goals to unlock Superman's comic book-inspired (Pen & Ink) Style designed by Jim Lee! These goals will be completable until Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 3: Super ends."

Another Superman update will launch on July 15, as the hero's Fortress of Solitude landmark joins the game.

Described as "an icy castle straight out of the Arctic tundra", the landmark will host Superman himself. Players can bring him bars to gain assistance.

Finally, Mister Terrific and The Engineer will be added to the Item Shop at 1am BST UK time on July 11.
