Gordon Ramsay has revealed that his favourite thing to eat in the UK is curry from one specific place. The famous chef has restaurants all over the world and is widely acknowledged as a master at his craft. One might assume that the TV chef and entrepreneur would consider a high-end restaurant one of his favourites in the UK. However, Ramsay revealed that his favourite place to eat in the UK is around Brick Lane in London, specifically going to one of the iconic curry houses there.
The chef was interviewed by Condé Nast Traveller and revealed that curry is his favourite dish to eat in the UK. "It was something I grew up with," he told the publication. "I think this country now has some of the best Indian restaurants anywhere in the world." He went on to mention Brick Lane in East London, which is known for its high concentration of curry houses that sell dishes for quite reasonable prices.

He continued: "We have two-star Michelin curry houses now and I'm so pleased. And it's only a matter of time before we have our first three-star curry house here in the UK.
"It's down to that amazing melting pot and the multilayered, multicultural environment we live in. I'm a big, big, big fan of Brick Lane.
"I grew up in the West Midlands in Birmingham. The community that Brick Lane gives off takes me back to Birmingham. So, Brick Lane, all day long."
There are more than 20 curry houses on Brick Lane selling cuisine from India, Bangladesh and surrounding regions. Popular spots include Sheba Restaurant, Bengal Village and Muhib's.
Many of these places have a BYOB policy, so you can bring in your own beer and wine. Meanwhile, the prices are quite reasonable compared to other restaurants in London, with main dishes available for around £12 to £14.
While many tourists stay in Central London to visit the well-known sites, Brick Lane remains somewhat of a local gem with some of the tastiest curries you can have.
