King Charles delivered a speech to Canada on Tuesday, as he warned that the country is facing a "critical moment" in its history - with him completely snubbing Donald Trump. Speaking about the royal's words on , USA correspondent Noel Phillips shared that the monarch was "rewriting history".
Appearing in Canada, Noel said: "Of all the visits I've witnessed over the years in Canada, the tone and energy of this one is unlike anything we have seen since his time on the throne. He followed the very steps his late mother, , took nearly 50 years ago. As he opened parliament, he seemed at ease and at times reflective."

The reporter explained that the King's words had been prepared by the government, pointing out that he had completely snubbed the American President, Donald Trump. "Although there was no mention of Donald Trump," Noel said, "there was this subtle message rebuking that Canada should be a part of the United States."
Noel later added that the President had created "uncertainty", but "the King has now given Canadians more of a reason to be defiant and leaves them with a sense of stability. At least for the near future."
While the bulk of his speech was written by the Government, the beginning and end were penned by the monarch as he spoke of his "greatest admiration for Canada's unique identity". In it speech, the King shared that the world is a "more dangerous and uncertain place".
His words outlined the Parliamentary agenda, which focused heavily on Canada's sovereignty, as well as domestic matters such as the economy, housing, welfare, climate, security and immigration.
Fans of GMB commented on social media saying that the speech was a "middle finger to Trump". One posted to X/Twitter: "Quite the spin you're putting on the speech. It was in fact on behalf of the Canadian people a right royal middle finger to Trump."
Another added: "Totally told Trump to jog on, nice." However, not everyone was in agreement, with one more sharing: "Disagree - Donald Trump is not a threat to Canada. Trump is fighting the Woke global agenda. Charles and the U.K. government are following it."
