A police officer has tragically lost his life while on duty over the weekend.
Pc Ian Minett died while working on the morning of Saturday June 21, according to Gloucestershire Constabulary.
The law enforcement body publicised the death today, just after 1.30pm, asserting that while it's deemed unexplained, there is nothing to suggest suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been notified.
A spokesperson for the constabulary said: "Gloucestershire Constabulary is saddened to report the death of PC Ian Minett whilst on duty this morning (Saturday 21 June). PC Minett's death is being treated as unexplained but non-suspicious and the Coroner has been informed. We extend our thoughts and prayers to PC Minett's family, friends, and colleagues, and we ask that his family are given privacy at this difficult time."
Adam Williams, the chair of Gloucestershire Police Federation, said: "I was lucky enough to work with Ian and he was well liked amongst all that had the pleasure of working alongside him and getting to know him. It is a massive loss to the shift, the station, and to the Constabulary as a whole.", reports the Mirror.
