Bhopal:Madhya Pradesh BJP plans to hold a training session for office-bearers and elected representatives next month to coach them to avoid making controversial statements.
Though it comes at a time when BJP is battling the fallout of controversies triggered by statements from minister Vijay Shah and some other elected representatives, the party says there is no connection between the two.
"The training camp is a regular event and is conducted after every organizational election. Our organizational elections were completed in Feb, and the training camp will be held in June," state BJP secretary Rajneesh Agarwal said. "The training is for young office-bearers, new entrants and first-time MLAs. The June camp was originally scheduled two months ago. And how can anyone train Vijay Shah, who is a senior leader, an eight-time MLA and a minister since 2004? How can anyone train a former Union minister and an MP for seven terms like Faggan Singh Kulaste? There is no such connection," he said.
Sources say BJP MLAs, MPs and office-bearers will be trained in communication skills at the camp.
