Two killed in separate accidents in Udupi

Udupi: Two persons, including a senior citizen, died in separate accidents in Udupi on Tuesday. In an incident reported at the Shakaranarayana police station, a man riding a bicycle died in an accident. The deceased is Koraga,77.

According to police, Koraga, a resident of Kauradi village in Kundapur, went to his son's house in Nellikatte. While returning home on his bicycle from Nellikatte towards Amparu, he was reportedly hit by a motorbike that Pavan was riding in the opposite direction at high speed negligently. As a result of the collision, both Koraga and Pavan fell onto the road. The public rushed to help and provided first aid. Koraga suffered serious injuries, while the motorbike rider sustained minor scratches and bruises. Koraga was taken to a private hospital in Kundapur. After examination, the doctors advised that he be shifted to a hospital in Manipal for advanced treatment. Despite being admitted and receiving treatment, Koraga succumbed to his injuries. A case was registered.

Scooter rider killed in accident

A scooter rider died in an accident in Karkala. According to police, Shreyan was riding a motorcycle from Nitte towards Karkala on the Karkala-Padubidri State Highway. When he reached near the Berandottu Cross in Nitte village, a scooter coming from the opposite direction reportedly collided with his vehicle.

The scooter that Ramesh was riding was allegedly driven at high speed and negligently. Both riders fell onto the road with their vehicles and sustained injuries. They were taken to a hospital in Karkala for treatment. However, Ramesh, who sustained serious head injuries, was declared dead on arrival. A case was registered at the Karkala Rural police station.
