Aamir Khan delays 'Sitaare Zameen Par' trailer launch amidst growing tensions between India-Pakistan

Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of his next, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ which is scheduled to release on June 20. The trailer of the film was supposed to be launched on May 8. However, it did not release. Now a latest report suggests that the actor has delayed the trailer launch of the film owing to the current tensions between India and Pakistan.

India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a reaction to the Pahalgam Terrorist Attack, and the tension between the two countries continues to rise. Amidst that, many directors, producers have either stalled the release of their movie or delayed the trailer launch or other events. For isntance, the makers of Rajkummar Rao, Wamiqa Gabbi starrer ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf’ decided not to release their film in theatres. Instead, they have now opted for an OTT release on May 16. Now according to a report in Mid-day, a source has been quoted saying, “Considering the developments at the borders and the nationwide alert, Aamir decided to postpone the release of Sitaare Zameen Par’s trailer. His thoughts are with the Bravehearts of our Armed Forces. He feels it is important to respond with unity and restraint during this time."

The trailer of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ was to release in April but was stalled due to the Pahalgam Attack on April 22. Aamir was quite heartbroken which is why he chose to not attend even the screening of his film ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ which had re-released.

As of now, the movie’s release date is still June 20. It’s the official Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film ‘Campeones’.
