John Cena 's confidence fell flat in front of Randy Orton 's calculative mind, who made a final statement before their match at WWE Backlash.

John Cena made one final appearance on WWE SmackDown before he defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against his historic rival, Randy Orton, at WWE Backlash. The Last Real Champion delivered a scratching promo, thinking that the Viper was not present for the show. However, it turned out to be a ruse set by Orton, who made a huge statement before battling Cena 'One last time.'

John Cena & Randy Orton had one last altercation before WWE BacklashJohn Cena came out at the end of this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown, which was the go-home show for WWE Backlash taking place at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. The Cenation Leader claimed that the end of everyone's childhood will come at Backlash when he would defeat his iconic rival, Randy Orton, in their last match ever in WWE.

The Cenation Leader announced that Orton was not present for SmackDown, and Cena took the opportunity to run him down. Cena launched some fiery shots against Orton, dragging his past incidents and called him the Greatest of All Time at screwing up opportunities and not realising his potential. Moreover, the evil Cena did not even shy from taking shots at his legendary grandfather, and father, Bob Orton Sr, and Cowboy Bob Orton Jr.

Cena stated that Orton was handed everything and protected throughout his career. He vowed to beat him in their final match and even referenced his drug test that he failed back in 2006. As the champion completed his address, a hooded man, who looked like Randy Orton, tried to hit him with an RKO, but Cena countered with an AA and turned his back, thinking he took out The Viper.

However, that proved to be costly for him as the real Randy Orton came out of nowhere and nailed his Backlash opponent with a thunderous RKO for the third time since the RAW after WrestleMania 41. Orton closed the show holding the WWE title, walking into Backlash with huge momentum.
