Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday announced the "end of the 12-day war" imposed by Israel, in a message to the nation.
"Today, after the heroic resistance of our great nation, whose determination makes history, we are witnessing the establishment of a truce and the ending of this 12-day war imposed by the adventurism and provocation" of Israel, Pezeshkian said in a statement carried by the official IRNA news agency.
Meanwhile, Israeli chief of staff lieutenant general Eyal Zamir said that Israel's focus will shift back to its fight against Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza.
"Now the focus shifts back to Gaza — to bring the hostages home and to dismantle the Hamas regime," said in a statement.
After the ceasefire deal, Israel's military said that the country is lifting restrictions on public gatherings, workplaces and education resulting from the war with Iran.
"Following the situational assessment and the approval of Minister of Defence, Israel Katz, it was determined that as of today (Tuesday), at 20:00... all areas of the country will shift to full activity without restriction," the military said in a statement. However, it added that the guidelines will be effective until Thursday evening.
