Trump dismisses health rumors as 'fake news,' but 'two-tone hands' and late arrival re-spark Oval Office gossip

Send Push
Donald Trump ’s big Oval Office announcement on Wednesday was supposed to be about national security . Instead, it has reignited the very rumors he was trying to bury, with viewers obsessing over the color of his hands.

The 79-year-old president, who revealed US Space Command HQ will relocate to Huntsville, Alabama , appeared after a 45-minute delay. But it wasn’t the policy reveal that went viral. Social media users zoomed in on his right hand, claiming it was visibly darker than the other.

“Trump’s hands are visibly 2 different colors today,” one user posted on X, attaching a freeze-frame from the broadcast.

Another piled on, suggesting his “voice sounded weak” and the Oval Office podium “was acting as a walker to help him stand.”

Rumors that refuse to die

The speculation comes after Trump vanished from the public eye for several days last week, prompting a swirl of online theories, ranging from illness to outright claims he had died. Even Sunday’s golf outing failed to silence the #TrumpIsDead chatter.

When asked about the morbid rumor, Fox’s Peter Doocy teased, “How did you find out you were dead?” Trump smirked: “I didn’t do anything for two days and they say something’s wrong. Biden wouldn’t do anything for months…”

The hand controversy

Tuesday’s focus on his “two-tone” hands isn’t new. In July, the White House acknowledged Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, a vein condition that causes leg swelling. His bruised and discolored hands, however, were blamed on “tissue irritation” from frequent handshaking and aspirin use. Officials have even admitted he sometimes wears make-up on the back of his hands to cover bruises.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the latest wave of rumors “crazy and baseless,” dismissing them as the work of “Democrat activists and left-wing lunatics.” She insisted Trump is “perfectly fine and has a tremendous amount of energy.”

The bigger picture

Trump himself brushed off the frenzy, pointing to his Truth Social activity over the weekend and declaring the rumors “sort of crazy.” He framed the relocation of Space Command as a major win, promising 30,000 jobs and billions in investment for Alabama.

But despite his reassurances, online sleuths remain unconvinced. For them, every bruise, wobble, or color mismatch is more proof that the president is hiding something
